Throughout the year, Methodist Sports Medicine / The Orthopedic Specialists Research and Education Foundation hosts various events and seminars that are open to the community. In addition, the Brady Sports Achievement Awards and the Laddie Golf Tournament are special fundraisers held each year to support the Foundation's research efforts.

BRADY SPORTS ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS
The 2012 event is Thursday April 12, at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in Indianapolis. Bob Griese, NFL Hall of Fame quarterback and two-time All-America at Purdue will provide the keynote address. Lifetime Achievement awards will be presented to Griese and Joe Tiller, Purdue's former head football coach and school's all-time leader in career wins. The IHSAA presents the C. Eugene Cato scholarship awards to Indiana scholar-athletes. In addition, high school and college athletes will receive Brady Sports Achievement Comeback Awards for those who have overcome adversity or hardship in their pursuit of excellence in athletics and academics.

THE LADDIE GOLF TOURNAMENT
The Laddie Golf Tournament is held each year to benefit orthopedic research and education conducted by Methodist Sports Medicine / The Orthopedic Specialists. The 2011 Laddie took place at The Bridgewater Club in Carmel. The 2012 event is scheduled for Monday May 21, at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, home of the 2012 PGA BMW Classic.

FOOTBALL SYMPOSIUM
The 2011 Football Symposium took place on July 26, in the first floor Community Room, of Methodist Medical Plaza North (Carmel) at 201 Pennsylvania Parkway. The event is a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program for Athletic Trainers.

ORTHOPEDIC SYMPOSIUM FOR PHYSICIANS AND MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS
The 2011 Ortho Symposium was Friday, September 23 , at the JW Marriott Hotel, in downtown Indianapolis. Designed for the medical professional, this day-long course provides attendees with recent developments in orthopedics and sports medicine. Issues related to the hip and knee are are the focus for the 2011 event.
Dr. J.W. Thomas Byrd, team physician for the Tennessee Titans and renowned specialist in hip arthroscopy, was the Keynote speaker.
The event is a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program.
