Foot & Ankle
“…Fortunately we had a doctor here, [from Methodist Sports Medicine / The Orthopedic Specialists] who is one of the foremost experts on athletic foot injuries, and probably the world…the injury has never bothered [Sanders] since." — Bill Polian on the Jim Rome Radio Show, February 8, 2007, referring to Colts Safety Bob Sander’s foot injury prior to the 2004 NFL draft.

Injuries/Conditions

Chronic overuse, training improperly or even wearing improper footwear can lead to foot injuries in athletes. Of course, these injuries aren’t limited to the court or the field.

Often, foot problems can be the result of car accidents, falling from heights, navigating stairs or slipping on ice.

Another major cause of foot pain is arthritis, which is when cartilage in the foot or ankle degenerates, causing bone-on-bone friction.
