WESTFIELD, Ind. (Aug. 8, 2017) – Methodist Sports Medicine’s new 2,500-square-foot facility on Grand Park’s campus in Westfield is welcoming a new doctor.

Dr. Michael Heitholt, who earned his doctorate in chiropractic from Palmer College in Davenport, Iowa, will be seeing athletes and patients at the new permanent clinic located inside the massive Grand Park Events Center.

Dr. Heitholt has Indiana roots, he is originally from Carmel, Indiana and attended Indiana University (IU). A lower back injury led the end of his soccer career at IU, and ultimately shaped his career choice.

Upon graduating from Palmer College, Dr. Heitholt practiced in Chicago where he worked for a company that promotes an outcome-based setting – tracking treatment outcomes, as well as working with large employers to help lower musculoskeletal healthcare costs.

Dr. Heitholt recently moved back to Indiana and has been running his own practice. When outside the office, Dr. Heitholt can most often be found spending time with his wife, Kelly, and two little boys, Matthew and Luke. He also loves hiking, running and Indiana Hoosiers basketball.

“The opportunity to join Methodist Sports Medicine at Grand Park is a unique opportunity to utilize a multidisciplinary approach that will create positive outcomes for patients,” said Dr. Heitholt. “I’m excited to bring a unique skill set and experience into Grand Park.”

Methodist Sports Medicine is the official medical provider of Grand Park. As part of the partnership, all sporting events at Grand Park are staffed by medical personnel from Methodist Sports Medicine, including athletic trainers and orthopedic physicians.

The 2,500-square-foot facility, set to open in fall 2017, will be staffed by athletic trainers, physical therapists and an orthopedic doctor. It will have X-ray capability, plus sell durable medical equipment such as crutches and braces. The new facility is located at 19000 Grand Park Blvd, Westfield, IN 46074.
