July 17, 2014 – Indianapolis, IN – Methodist Sports Medicine (MSM) physician and founding partner Arthur C. Rettig, M.D. , Lance A. Rettig, M.D., and 2013 MSM orthopedic sports medicine fellow, Ankur “Rishi” Behl, M.D. have authored a manuscript that was published in the July 2014 issue of the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery.
An excerpt from the article’s introduction provides this background: “Lateral antebrachial cutaneous nerve (LABC) compression is a rare, but debilitating injury. It most commonly presents as numbness and/or neuropathic pain over the elbow and lateral aspect of the forearm. Patients typically have a history of injury or overuse of the elbow involving extension and maximal pronation of the elbow with activities such as weightlifting and tennis. ” –July 2014 Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, Vol. 23. Issue 7.
The physicians perform a unique procedure for this rare and uncommon condition and have received successful results.

Dr. Arthur C. Rettig specializes in sports medicine and disorders of the upper extremities. His special areas of interest are the care and rehabilitation of injuries to the hand, wrist, elbow and knee, as well as arthroscopic surgery. He has also served as the head team physician and lead team orthopedist for the Indianapolis Colts for several years.
Dr. Lance A. Rettig specializes in sports medicine and disorders of the upper extremities and has served as an orthopedic consultant and team physician to area high school and college sports teams.
Dr. Ankur “Rishi” Behl completed his orthopedic sports medicine fellowship with Methodist Sports Medicine in 2013 and currently practices at Midwest Orthopaedic Institute in DeKalb, Illinois. He is also a team physician supporting the football program at Northern Illinois University.
