Dr. Kraft specializes in sports medicine and non-operative musculoskeletal medicine.
Dr. Daniel Kraft is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. He is also board certified in sports medicine and specializes in non-operative musculoskeletal medicine including the diagnosis of injuries to the upper and lower extremities and spine with emphasis on pediatric and adolescent sports medicine problems. He oversees the Youth Sports Medicine Institute at Methodist Sports Medicine / The Orthopedic Specialists.
A native of Morton, Illinois, who attended Wabash College, Dr. Kraft received his medical degree from the University of Illinois School of Medicine in 1989. His residency in pediatric medicine was at the Indiana University Medical Center, and his fellowship in sports medicine was at Methodist Sports Medicine / The Orthopedic Specialists.
Dr. Kraft is an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Indiana University, and is the team physician for Ben Davis High School. He is the medical director for the USA Diving National Training Center. He also serves as the sports medicine consultant for Starz Diving Club and DeVeau’s Gymnastics. He currently serves as medical director for multiple Indiana High School Athletic Association state championships and the Indiana Golden Gloves Championships. Dr. Kraft is a certified provider of ImPACT testing for medical treatment of sports concussions.
Dr. Kraft is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP-Sports Medicine Section), the American College of Sports Medicine and the Indiana State Pediatric Society. He is chairman of the Committee on Sports Medicine for the Indiana chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
