Dr. Jonathan Smerek was an engineering major who loved sports. He was captain of the track and field team at the University of Notre Dame while he got his bachelor’s in mechanical engineering. Today, Dr. Smerek can still enjoy his dual interests, in a specialty that reinforces his passion for helping others remain active and pain-free.

A graduate of the medical school at the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Smerek completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at The Ohio State University. He furthered his knowledge and skills during his foot and ankle fellowship with Dr. Mark Myerson and Dr. Cliff Jeng at the Institute for Foot and Ankle Reconstruction in Baltimore.

Dr. Smerek and his wife Carrie are both natives of Hiram, Ohio. They are the proud parents of two children, Bryce and Claire, with whom he is sharing his belief in the power of positive thinking and determination in achieving your goals in life.
