BRADY SPORTS ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS
Methodist Sports Medicine / The Orthopedic Specialists Research and Education Foundation, the non-profit arm of Methodist Sports Medicine / The Orthopedic Specialists, has established the Thomas A. Brady, MD Comeback Awards and the Thomas A. Brady, MD Lifetime Achievement Awards.

Thomas A. Brady, MD is the father of sports medicine in central Indiana. He established a walk-in clinic in the basement of Methodist Hospital in the 1960s. This clinic endured until it became the Methodist Sports Medicine Center. He was very interested in research and developed many innovative techniques for safely returning athletes to sports sooner than previously thought possible. This interest led him to develop the research department at Methodist Sports Medicine Center. Through his support the clinic has been able to develop one of the premier clinical research centers for sports injuries in the country.

Dr. Brady spent his evenings and weekends attending sporting events and treating athletes on the sidelines, despite a busy orthopedic practice. As a result of his dedication to the injured athlete and his availability to them, he became widely known as the person to come to for sports injuries.
