RESEARCH
Methodist Sports Medicine / The Orthopedic Specialists is nationally recognized for its medical research. See publications history.
Over the years, our research has assisted the staff in helping people get back to work or athletics much sooner with fewer complications and better physical function. Physicians and therapists across the country and around the world use our techniques to help their patients.
Our physicians and therapists have published over 300 journal articles and 20 chapters in noted medical texts. They also regularly present research and share their expertise in presentations across the country and around the world.
Our physicians recently began participation in the FDA approved Biomet Clinical Trial for chronic tennis elbow. Traditional tennis elbow treatments may include compression forearm bands and/or surgery. The Recover® Kit technique involves a simple injection performed in the office. Only those patients that meet the pre-defined approved inclusion/exclusion criteria are eligible to volunteer in this study. Learn more about the Biomet clinical trial.
Most importantly, we use our research findings to ensure that active individuals, from recreational to professional levels, are treated in the most effective manner possible, enabling them to return to their favorite activities quickly and safely.
Methodist Sports Medicine / The Orthopedic Specialists Research and Education Foundation was established to fund and support these research activities, advancing the treatment and quality of life of those suffering musculoskeletal disorders.
