Methodist Sports Medicine (MSM) is seeking a full-time, experienced Revenue Cycle Liaison to work in our North office located in the Indianapolis/Carmel, IN area. Requires travel to our South office in Greenwood, IN for educational training and meetings as needed. Hours are 8a-4:30p, Monday-Friday with occasional overtime as needed.
Serve as liaison between medical billing vendors and applicable internal MSM departments. Work closely as a business conduit between front office and clinical leadership and staff, physicians and providers, rehab services and patient financial services staff. Ensure that pre- and post- revenue cycle processes are handled accurately and timely, monitoring insurance billing for reimbursement. Provide education and payer guideline training, to eliminate insurance carrier denials. Ensure that front desk (check in/check out, copay collections) functions are met, providing current education and training as needed. Provide support for ongoing ICD-10 training initiatives. Work closely with physicians and external coding staff to ensure an understanding of appropriate coding guidelines as well as assistance with appeals processes. Ensure contracts with insurance companies and provider credentialing are in place and remain consistently current. Ensure that applicable medical billing reporting measures are in place, including timely delivery to MSM senior management. Regularly reviews billing reports and notifies MSM management of any variances or trends.
High school diploma or equivalent required with Associates degree in medical billing, healthcare management, business and/or healthcare related field preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Five (5) years of billing/coding/collections related work experience in medical billing in a healthcare setting required, three (3) years of process management experience preferred. Medical billing certification preferred (e.g., Certified Professional Coder or comparable). Demonstrate core competencies regarding medical billing, with understanding of physician, surgical, DME and rehab services. Follow all external regulatory guidelines and internal processes. Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience required, NextGen experience strongly preferred. Demonstrate excellent verbal, interpersonal, written and computer skills. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task required. Work well independently, within an internal team environment, and with external vendors.
