This is a big year for the Trail Trek, marking the fact that it’s been running for 10 years strong now.
Methodist Sports Medicine proudly sponsors this celebration of health, wellness and the Greenwood community. Every year, our own Dr. Tony Origer helps organize the event — a 5k run/walk in support of Greenwood’s trail and walkway systems. Proceeds from the Trail Trek go directly to ensuring that Greenwood’s trails remain safe and environmentally-friendly.
The race starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, beginning and ending at Craig Park and following the 5k trail that runs along Main Street all the way to Emerson and back on Smith Valley.
Registration for participants is $20 by September 2 and $25 any time after that date. Use this link to sign up: www.Greenwood.in.gov/TrailTrek5K (registration has closed). This year also includes a special “School Challenge” for schools in the Greenwood area, featuring a $1,000 prize benefiting the winning school’s physical fitness program. You can find more information about this challenge here.
Come on out and help make the 10th annual Trail Trek our best event yet!
