“I would like to say thank you to our Methodist Sports Medicine physicians. They were with us for the seven years I was here, and were just tremendous. Absolutely the best, highly competent, caring individuals…just perfectionists at what they did and so, so special in the way they provided the best care our players could get. Also, I’d really have to say they were responsible for us winning the Super Bowl…”
– Tony Dungy, Former Colts Head Coach at Thomas A. Brady MD Sports Achievement Awards, 2010

“…In all my years as a case manager. I have never had an office staff person go out of their way as your Workers’ Compensation manager did for one of my injured workers, and want you to know that your work comp department is TOP NOTCH and very well coordinated.”
– Tammy Skatts, RN, BSN, COHN-S, CCM
RTW, Inc./State Auto Companies, 2014

“Knowing you had many more serious issues to deal with, my wife felt like you treated her with kindness and patience as if she was your only patient….Your expertise and the following physical therapy with her rivals any of the schools where I coached basketball for 38 years, notably Iowa and West Virginia University.”
– Mel Hankinson, 2014

“Years ago, when I dislocated my mid-foot from my fore-foot and tore a number of ligaments in the process. As a result of the injury, the arch in my foot would collapse every time I would walk. Dr. Porter diagnosed my condition as a Lis Franc injury. It was extremely painful to play football, and it even began interfering with how I performed day-to-day activities. Dr. Porter explained that my only treatment option was surgery, but there was a 50 percent chance that I may not be able to play professional football again.

It was a scary situation, but he was confident that he could reverse the damage. He understood the importance of treating the injury and how it would immediately impact my life, but he also educated me about how the surgery would impact my life 20 years from now. I really appreciated that. We set a pretty aggressive recovery timeline. I had the surgery on March 14, and I was back on the field on October 4. Dr. Porter knew that the surgery was a success, so he allowed me to push myself during rehab exercises. I’m doing great now, and the muscles in my foot continue to build strength. I’m super excited about the work Dr. Porter has done. He knows how seriously everyone takes their injuries, and he takes them just as seriously. He saved my career.”
– Nick Hardwick, San Diego Chargers

“As a patient, you feel very comfortable with the people and doctors at Methodist Sports Medicine. They are easy to talk to, and make you feel comfortable and confident that concern for your health is priority one.”
– Dallas Clark, NFL Tight End, Former Indianapolis Colts player

“…Fortunately we had a doctor [from Methodist Sports Medicine] who is one of the foremost experts on athletic foot injuries, probably in the world…”
– Bill Polian, President, Former  Colts President , on Jim Rome radio show, February, 2007

“Methodist Sports Medicine took a genuine interest in being careful with our athletes, doing what was best for the young men, and good at getting them back on the field as fast as possible. If one of our players was injured, the very next day Methodist Sports Medicine would work him into the schedule, and a doctor would see him.

We had a quarterback (Kent Britt) who required ACL surgery in the fall of 1986, his sophomore season. I had the privilege of observing Methodist Sports Medicine physicians perform the surgery, which was amazing. Kent had the surgery, did all the rehab and therapy work they asked him to do. When Kent came back, he led us to state championships his junior and senior seasons at Ben Davis High School.

That’s just one example. Throughout the course of my career, there were many occasions and many athletes who needed to see Methodist Sports Medicine. They always did a thorough and good job.”
–Dick Dullaghan, Seven-Time Indiana State Champion High School Football Coach

“…I have had two knee replacements and now have legs that work well. I’m supporting the Methodist Sports Medicine Foundation by sending this check in honor of Dr. Hur, his assistant Matt, and Whitney in Physical Therapy.”
– Meredith, Greencastle, IN, 2014
