(Carmel, Ind.) October 1 – Methodist Sports Medicine, the leading sports medicine and orthopedic provider in Indiana and surrounding area, is pleased to announce that Matthew Negaard, MD, has joined the practice and will begin seeing patients this fall in Noblesville.

“It is such a blessing to be able to join a physician group with such a rich history of serving the Indianapolis area. I am excited to join Methodist Sports Medicine during a time of growth and expansion for the group and I am looking forward to seeing patients at our new satellite location in Noblesville”, Dr. Negaard said.

Dr. Negaard received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, where he majored in biology, while obtaining All-American honors on the baseball team. After his undergraduate education, he attended medical school at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City. Upon completing medical school, Dr. Negaard stayed at the University of Iowa for his residency in emergency medicine. After completing his emergency medicine residency, he became a primary care sports medicine fellow at the University of Iowa, serving as a team physician.

“We are honored to have Dr. Negaard join our outstanding team,” said Dr. Mark Ritter, orthopedic surgeon and president of Methodist Sports Medicine. “Dr. Negaard will bring a unique skill-set to our practice and will be a great addition to our evolving group.”

Dr. Negaard has developed several different interests and has contributed research and education in musculoskeletal ultrasound, musculoskeletal injuries, and a variety of emergency medicine disciplines. He also has developed an interest in orthobiologics and other innovative non-operative techniques in treating musculoskeletal injuries. Other passions included serving those without access to medical care, which has led him to attending to those in need in Tanzania and Haiti, and he has continued work in local emergency departments.

Along the way, he continues to enjoy participating in recreational athletics, attending sporting events, and playing board games with his wife.

Dr. Negaard is accepting new patients and will be practicing at Methodist Sports Medicine’s future satellite clinic in Noblesville. For more information about Methodist Sports Medicine, visit
