August 23, 2014 – (Indianapolis, Ind) – When the Indianapolis Colts finish the home portion of the NFL pre-season against the New Orleans Saints, Methodist Sports Medicine physicians will be on the sidelines providing medical coverage. The nationally televised game on CBS will showcase front line players from both teams through the early stages of the second half to closely simulate regular season conditions in this next to last tilt of the pre-season. Official Colts team physicians from Methodist Sports Medicine working this game will include Arthur C. Rettig, M.D., Thomas Klootwyk, M.D., and concussion management specialist, Henry Feuer, M.D. The 2014 NFL season marks the 31st consecutive year that Methodist Sports Medicine has provided orthopedic sports medicine coverage for the reigning AFC South champions.
Colts standout wide receiver Reggie Wayne has yet to see game action since a knee injury sidelined him in October during the 2013 regular season. Colts Head Coach Chuck Pagano says Wayne’s playing status for the Saints’ game will be a game time decision. After Saturday night’s game, the Colts will wrap up the pre-season with a Thursday night game on August 28th at Cincinnati.
Kickoff between the Saints and Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium is scheduled for 8:00pm (EDT) and can be seen in the Indianapolis area on WISH-TV 8, and heard over radio stations WLHK, 97.1 FM, and WFNI 1070AM/107.5 FM.
