In efforts to protect you the patient and our staff, we will be pre-screening every patient who presents to the office. All patients need to present to their appointments wearing a mask.

We ask for you to arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment for the pre-screening. If failed, your appointment will be re-scheduled out two weeks.

Unless the patient is a minor or needs assistance, only the patient will be allowed to enter the suite.

Anesthesiologist and Chronic Pain Specialist

Dr. Gary Gettelfinger was born in New Albany, Indiana and went to Indiana University for 12 years – undergraduate, medical school and residency. From there he went into the United States Navy to pay his debts and was stationed in Okinawa and Camp Pendleton, California. 

He has been in Bloomington, Indiana for 24 years doing surgery anesthesia and chronic pain medicine.

Dr. Gettelfinger is double-boarded in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology and American Board of Pain Medicine, respectively. He is currently a partner with Bloomington Anesthesiologist PC for his surgical anesthesia. 

Dr. Gettelfinger has four beautiful children and a wonderful wife, Karen Hrisomalos, who has been practicing dentistry in Bloomington, Indiana for the past 30 years. He loves spending time outdoors hunting, skiing, and traveling with his family, and helping with his church.
